Koco Stud Materials and Properties

For 60 years KÖCO has been globally active in the field of Stud Welding and Fastening Technology with its own production of Stud Welding Equipment, Stud Welding Torches, Welding Studs, Shear Connectors and Cold Formed Parts.

4.8 GRADE NON ALLOY

KÖCO non-alloy structural steel welding studs are manufactured from S235 according to EN 10025:2005 with more stringent requirements for carbon content, degree of purity, grain size and surface properties. This makes the material ideally suited for stud welding. Through cold forming the material’s tensile strength and yield strength are enhanced and a favorable grain structure is also achieved.

For threaded studs, pins, tapped studs and similar products, mechanical properties according to DIN EN ISO 898-1, property class 4.8 is guaranteed.

A2-50 GRADE STAINLESS STEEL

KÖCO threaded studs, pins, tapped studs are made from A2-50 according to DIN EN ISO 3506-1.


Tensile strength Rm ≥ 500 N/mm²
Yield point Rp0,2 ≥ 210 N/mm²
Elongation A5 ≥ 25%

 

 

 

1.4571 GRADE STAINLESS STEEL

KOCO threaded studs of this grade render a high tensile strength and corrosion resistance properties.


Tensile strength Rm 540-780 N/mm²
Yield point Rp0,2 ≥ 350 N/mm²

 

 

 

K800- THE HIGH STRENGTH MATERIAL

K 800 is a specual material developed by Koster & Co., which has minimum yield strength of 640 N/mm² with minimum tensile strength of approx. 800 N/mm² and can replace screws of the strength category 8.8 according to ISO 898. The low carbon content of approx. 0.1% prevents embrittlement during welding. The high level of strength in K800 is achieved exclusively by cold forming.
